18.11.24 - Our Reception and Nursery classes are very lucky to enjoy Forest School sessions every Thursday with our trained Forest School Leader Miss Rees and the rest of the Early Years team. It has been amazing to already see their skills and knowledge about the world around them develop, as well as improving their confidence, resilience and problem solving. Lots of fun is had by all, as you can see from the big smiles!
July 2024 - A lovely end to Years 5 and 6 Forest School After School Club - fun, laughter, creating and s'mores!
June 2024 - This term, Years 5 and 6 have had the opportunity to come to our onsite Forest School After School Club. So far they have enjoyed making homes for different woodland animals, clearing and weeding and planting, and this week they learnt about fire safety and more importantly....they got to toast marshmallows
March 2024 - This week was the last Forest School After School Club for Years 3 and 4, so it was only right that they finished with learning about fire safety and, of course, toasting marshmallows! All the children did brilliantly, and it has been a fantastic couple of terms with these year groups! Well done to all! Next term Forest School After School Club will be open for Years 5 and 6!
7th February 2024 - For the last two weeks, Forest School After School Club have been clearing some of our site. Weeding, digging, transporting, sweeping and putting new soil into our flower beds ready for new seeds to go in for the spring. They have all worked extremely hard and the Forest School site is looking better than ever
25th January 2024 - We love to see the joy on the children's faces when Reception and Nursery spend an afternoon at Forest School
January 2024 - This week's Forest School After School Club consisted of working in teams to makes houses for some furry friends!
January 2024 - Year 3 and 4 have started Forest School After School Club this term and this week, after going over the Forest School Rules, they made their names using natural resources, explored the site, dug holes, found bugs and used lots of teamwork! One child even made their own replica of the Forest School site using things she could find, well done!'
12.12.23 - Forest School After School Club for Years 1 and 2 has been a huge success this term! They have taken part in a range of activities including learning about the Forest School rules, making nature self portraits, bug hunting, finding nature treasures, making homes for animals we might find in the woods, making bird feeders, making mud paint, learning about fire safety, mindfulness activities and having lots of biscuits and finishing yesterday with marshmallows (unfortunately it was too soggy last night to toast them!). All the children have done so well with following the rules and routines and developed a number of skills such as confidence, resilience, teamwork, motor skills and learning about why the outdoors is so important to stay healthy and how it can help us to learn! Well done Years 1 and 2! Next term it will be open for Years 3 and 4! '
